Good morning Seahawk Nation,
Happy Monday morning! We have had a major influx of cadets switching from hybrid to remote in the past 96 hours, due to the rising cases in the country, state, and our DMA community. With that being said, we are spending a large portion of the day tracing positive cases, as well as changing cadets’ learning location from hybrid to remote. We will continue to monitor the situation, work with our DPH liaison and make the best decisions that we can regarding the health and safety for our DMA family.
In addition, if you feel your cadet was exposed to Covid-19 or you traveled out of state and are having your cadet tested, please do not send them back to school until you have received their results and shared them with our school nurse (Paige Dolan)/Covid Coordinator (Anthony Pullella).
Here is what is happening around DMA:
- Interested in a career in Criminal Justice or the law? We are happy to say that DMA will have a Mock Trial Team for the virtual State competition in February. This year is a civil court case and we will teach you how to be either an attorney or a witness. Mock Trial is a tremendous opportunity to learn about how to be a lawyer and looks great on a college application! We will meet by Zoom next week, so please email the team coaches to get on the team. Email Mrs. Soltow at tami.soltow@dma.k12.de.us or Mrs. McCloskey at jzmac@udel.edu
- DMA will undergo our Middle States accreditation December 7th through December 9th. The accreditation is a very thorough and time-intensive evaluation. Please be patient with our Staff during this time and allow an additional day or two if reaching out to us during that time.
- A message from the yearbook staff: With our next deadline fast approaching, we’re in need of the following pictures for the next spreads in the yearbook:
- Who’s That Masked Seahawk– you guessed it…send us photos of our Seahawks in their best masks that keep them safe!
- We Are Family– with so many relatives and ‘multiples’ here at DMA, we are featuring our truly related cadets in the yearbook this year, so send us a picture of you and your family member…we have siblings, cousins, twins, and even triplets on campus this year!
- Working Hard and Giving Back– Send us pics of your cadet working hard at their job and/or giving back volunteering their time.
- Candids– as always, send in those fun photos of our staff and cadets having fun (Our Freshmen and Seniors we were missing you the last time…get those photos in!)
If you are able to get us your photos, please send them ASAP to: dmaporthole@gmail.com And a huge thank you to those of you who have continued to send us your pictures. The yearbook is shaping up to be a very special book this year, and we couldn’t do it without your help! If you haven’t purchased yours yet, now is a great time to do that before the next price increase after the first of the year. Head to www.yearbookordercenter.com and enter order #16925 to get yours today.
