The DMA Events Calendar is a “tentative” schedule for planning purposes. The Commandant may have to change the dates of some events as necessary due to conditions caused by inclement weather and school days missed – and to meet the Department of Education’s regulations. The DMA Events Calendar is a “tentative” schedule for planning purposes. The Commandant may have to change the dates of some events as necessary due to conditions caused by inclement weather and school days missed – and to meet the Department of Education’s regulations. Please review the Event Calendars weekly for possible changes.

DMA believes in giving back to the community and our surrounding neighborhoods through volunteering our time to those in need. DMA each year has continually found ways to participate and has been instrumental in various non-profit organizations. All part of what makes DMA great! Check back regularly to view various community service opportunities.

GRADUATION!

DMA’s Commencement Ceremony 2024

Date: Wednesday, June 5, 2024
Time: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Venue: Chase Center on the Riverfront

We are excited to be in the home stretch of your cadet’s high school experience! Please read important information about the event below!

Date: Wednesday, June 5, 2024

  • Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Uniform: Service Dress with Garrison Cap (to throw)
  • Venue: Chase Center on the Riverfront, 815 Justison St., Wilmington 19801
  • Rehearsal:
    • Mandatory for Seniors, 9am, June 5th, on the DMA Drill Deck.
    • Casual attire, and groomed to DMA standards
  • Event Report: 
    • Seniors should report at 5:00 pm to the Chase Center staging room.
    • Grooming regulations for cadets are in effect.
    • Wear your uniform one last time with pride and dignity, gentlemen make sure to get a haircut and shave, ladies’ hair secured off the collar.
  • Regular Updates: Join the Class of 2024 BAND App!

Commencement Fee and Tickets:

  • Commencement Fee: $100, due by April 6th.
  • Admission: Tickets for Commencement are $20 per person.
    • Ticket sales will be announced and begin on or around April 8th.
    • Tickets may only be purchased after the Commencement Fee has been paid.
  • Click HERE to download the Commencement Dues form. (Link available after February 1st)
  • Payments should be sent to the main office, attention John Grant, in a sealed envelope, and checks should be made payable to DMA.
    • Please allow ample time for check processing.
  • There are no limitations on the number of guests.
  • All guests, regardless of age, need a ticket to attend.
  • It is recommended children under 5 not attend due to the dignity and length of the ceremony, but it is left to the parent’s discretion.
  • Lost tickets will not be recouped.  If tickets are lost, replacements must be purchased.
  • Tickets should be brought to the event and will be collected at entry.
  • Cadets must meet all DMA graduation requirements and behavioral standards in order to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
    • In the event a cadet does not meet these requirements they will not be allowed to participate and they will forfeit any payments made for the event.

General Event Guidelines:

  • ALL guests are expected to dress accordingly: strictly enforced
    • Attire: Business Professional
      • Males – examples: collard shirt and khaki or dress pants (no jeans or shorts)
      • Females – examples: dress, blouse, slacks, or skirts
    • If you intend on inviting additional family/guests, please ensure that they adhere to the appropriate dress code. 
    • All guests must be dressed appropriately regardless of age.
    • As in the past, monitors will be in the lobby and will enforce dress code policies before entrance is permitted.
  • Admission and seating is first come-first serve and staff ushers will assist with seating.
  • We ask that families not hold seats, as seating is limited and parties should plan to arrive/enter together to be seated.
  • Those needing special seating for wheelchairs should contact John Grant at their earliest convenience.
