Happy Pi Day!

Good morning Seahawk Nation,

We hope the start of Pi Day for you is a good one!  I am sure our Math Department will be having their own little celebration with the cadets in recognition of Pi Day.

Here is what is happening at DMA:

  • We are nearing mid-terms for the second semester (3/29, 3/30) which means the end of the third marking period is right around the corner. Please, if your cadet is struggling academically, reach out and let us work together to find a way to ensure they are meeting the standard. We have added additional tutoring services and many of our cadets have taken advantage of this opportunity. Please feel free to reach out to anyone of us for assistance. We are here to help!
  • SAT Administration: All 11th grade cadets will be taking the SAT test on March 22nd. There is no school for the rest of the student body that day. Cadets did not have to sign up or submit payment for this testing opportunity. It is very important that if a cadet is experiencing a Chromebook issue, they talk with Mr. Grant on Monday. Cadets will need a fully charged Chromebook, two No. 2 pencils with erasers, and an approved calculator for testing day.  The list of approved calculators can be found at: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/what-to-bring-do/calculator-policy . Cadets may bring a snack and water with them; however, it will only be available while the cadets are on breaks.  Testing room locations will be posted in the Mess Hall next week.  The testing time is well over four hours.  11th grade cadets will report to school at regular time and must sit for the entire test administration. Cadets will be permitted to wear PT gear for the test. Early dismissals will not be allowed on test day.
  • We will be underway this week (weather permitting) with the third phase of the Parade Field renovation, which is to begin laying down the turf. Thank you to all of the families who have assisted financially to help offset the expenses to complete a project of this magnitude. We are excited to provide our cadets with the best and most safe high school experience possible.
  • Reminder: Re-enrollment letters were distributed to cadets on March 1st. History would indicate that many of these forms are somewhere at the bottom of your cadets’ book bag. Please ask your cadet for the form. The date to return your form/fees is April 7th.
  • Sports Report: Congratulations to Ethan Walther and Aidan Leary who participated in the Nike Indoor Nationals. They both performed at a high level.
  • Anyone interested in sponsoring our Golf Outing, please use the following link: https://dma-golf-outing.perfectgolfevent.com/. Your continuous support goes a long way and we sincerely appreciate it.

We hope you have a great week and please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your time at DMA more rewarding.

Kindly,
