Happy 245th Birthday to the United States Navy!

Good morning Seahawk Nation,

Happy 245th Birthday to the United States Navy! “Non sibi sed patriae” (Not self, but country). Very proud to have served alongside so many great sailors during my enlistment! Wishing all of our current Navy and Veteran shipmates a Happy Birthday! Cheers!

    • Our Staff is required to have office hours on a regular basis. If your cadet has a question, is struggling with content, or needs to have a conversation with their teacher, office hours are a perfect time! Office hours really mean an opportunity for a one on one or small group help sessions. If your cadet was ever someone who stayed after class or after school for tutoring, they will have access to that same level of support during office hours. Office hours are not a time given to teachers to work on their clerical work, it’s time set aside in their day to help their cadets! Please take advantage of the office hours, it will only benefit your cadet!
    • Beginning today, we move into Stage Two of our Return to play/In-person Instruction Plan with the return of NJROTC Marksmanship and Drill team. Bravo Zulu to all of our fall athletes and coaches who have been following protocol and adhering to the guidelines for a safe return to play. Not even going to say anything more about it, other than keep up the good work, and looking forward to seeing you all back in competition very soon!
    • We have been receiving numerous emails and calls about DMA’s Open House. DMA’s Open House this year will be a virtual tour, which we are in the process of completing now. It will be released (or as they say in the biz “dropped”) on October 31st the day our regular Open House would have been scheduled. Please feel free to share that information via Facebook or whatever social media platform you use. Word on the street is it is being nominated for best original picture and CDR Easley is up for best-supporting actor… we will see!
    • From the DMA PTA: Our next meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, October 15th at 6:00 pm via ZOOM. Thursday’s meeting is our regularly scheduled monthly meeting and is a follow-up to the impromptu ZOOM we hosted a couple of weeks ago. Parents and staff are invited to attend and encouraged to bring any ideas or questions. To register for this meeting, as well as the other monthly PTA meetings, simply click here. And please remember to join or renew your PTA membership today by visiting dmapta.net. Now more than ever, your support is needed and greatly appreciated!
    • There is a virtual SBC meeting this Thursday at 6:30 pm. Please join us, as we will be discussing the open positions on the Club, the job responsibilities associated with each one and when in-person elections will be held. We are looking for folks who have an interest in the entire program and not necessarily just focused on one individual team.

We are really looking forward to having our cadets back in person soon and focusing on the mission at hand, which is keeping our Staff and cadets safe to the best of our ability and getting back to what makes DMA so special and unique ~ Love of country and one another! No other school in the country cultivates and grows patriotism like DMA and that is something we are so proud to do each and every day!

Kind regards,
Commandant
