Good morning Seahawk Nation,
We hope the cadets enjoyed the extra day added to the weekend! Here is what we have happening at DMA:
- Re-enrollment letters were distributed last week with a return date of March 29th. Please return this form before the due date, so we can plan accordingly for next year. Thank you.
- SAT School Day and PSAT 10 Update:
- The SAT School Day administration for all 11th grade cadets will be conducted as previously scheduled on March 23rd. Only 11th grade cadets will be reporting to campus on March 23rd. There will be no school for cadets in grades 9, 10 and 12 on March 23
- The PSAT 10 for all 10th grade cadets will now be administered on April 13th. Only 10th grade cadets will be reporting to campus on April 13th. There will be no school for cadets in grades 9, 11, and 12 on April 13th. While classes won’t be held on testing days for non-testing cadets, cadets are encouraged to use this time to get caught up on their work or study for upcoming assessment.
- The DMA Drill team competed in the Seaford Fallen Heroes Memorial Drill meet with the following results. Congratulations to the following:
- Varsity Unarmed Platoon – 1st place / Commanded by Cadet Maxie Matthews
- Varsity Armed Platoon – 3rd place / Commanded by Cadet Giada MacNamara
- Varsity Color Guard – 3rd place / Commanded by Cadet Gianna Rebechi and Cadet Joshua Gutzmirtl
- Varsity Top Performing Unit – Overall 2nd place
- First-year Unarmed Squad Drill – 2nd place / Commanded by Cadet Evan Lightfoot
- First-year Color Guard – 1st place / Commanded by Cadet Alaina Glaviano
- First-year Cadet Top Performing Unit – DMA 1st place
- From the Yearbook Staff: Our final yearbook submission deadline is right around the corner, so we have one last push for picture requests for the following yearbook spread topics:
- Cadets (and staff) and Their Pets
- DMA After Hours
- Best Friends (friends in any grade doing things together. If you could let us know what grade they are in, we are organizing the spread by grade level.)
- As always, if you have not pre-ordered your yearbook, it makes things much easier for your cadet when the books arrive on campus in the spring. And with the remaining books only being sold on a ‘first- come, first-served’ basis, you don’t want to chance having your cadet being left out. Head to www.yearbookordercenter.com today and enter our school order number #16925 to purchase your yearbook today. Be sure to save the confirmation of your order as your reminder.
- The Class of 2023 will receive their class rings at our Junior Ring Ceremony on Thursday, March 24th at 6:30pm on the Drill Deck. Junior families are welcome and refreshments will be provided by our PTA. If for some reason a junior who purchased a ring is not available, the rings will be available for pick up from Mrs. Certesio on Friday, March 25th.
- Our March PTA meeting will be held Wednesday, March 16th at 6:30pm in the Mess Hall. Please join us to learn more about what’s in store for the remainder of the school year. Stay tuned for a Zoom link for those who are unable to be with us in person.
We hope you have a great week and as always, please reach out with questions, concerns or anything else that may be needed.
Kindly,
Anthony Pullella
