NHS Induction and More!

Good morning Seahawk Nation,

April showers bring May flowers.  What do May flowers bring?  Pilgrims! Dad joke of the day :). Happy 1st day of May!

  • We had a great end to last week with the induction of our newest members to the National Honor Society!  Thank you to our NHS Chairs Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. Watkins, as well as the committee for their time, diligence and commitment to the process.  Congratulations to the following cadets on being inducted into the National Honor Society: Ava Amato, Arabella Brownlee, Ashley Budd, Callaghan Daly, Adrian DiMaio, Payton Fogarty, Georgia Glenn, Nathan Golden, Mya Gonzalez, Arianna Gordon, John Lednum, Evan Lightfoot, Rachel Logullo, Gabrielle MacKrell, Maame Manu, Juliana Marino, Alexis Miller, Alicia Moran, Preston Poitras, Abbygayle Riddell, Kellen Roberts, Valerie Robles, Madison Sturmfels, Cyrus Trent, Emily Trzonkowski, McKenna Vest, Ethan Walther and Ava Whitlock.  BRAVO ZULU Cadets!
  • This past Saturday we spent the day with the Class of 2027 preparing and readying them for a successful four-year career at DMA.  The newest members of the Seahawk Nation began their day with an academic placement test, followed by a physical fitness assessment and we completed the day with a New Cadet Orientation with parents, guardians and families introducing them to the DMA way.  The class of 2027 appears to be ready, motivated and eager to take on the challenges and adventures that lie ahead!  Again, thank you to everyone who ensured the DMA brand was represented in a first class manner!
  • Yesterday, Mr. Townsend, Mrs. Kryzanowski, and Mrs. Soltow spent their Sunday at DMA with about 45 of our cadets preparing for the Advanced Placement tests that begin this Wednesday.  This speaks volumes to their commitment of our cadets and their success!  In the same breath, we applaud the commitment and dedication of the cadets who attended the study session to be as ready and prepared as possible.  BRAVO ZULU to all hands!
  • This Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 6:30pm, the Annual NJROTC Awards Ceremony will take place in the Dome.  All cadets and families are invited and encouraged to attend this event.  Naval Science Instructors are notifying the cadets and families both in Naval Science classes and via email for those cadets who are receiving awards, being recognized or being promoted to the next higher rank.  The uniform for cadets is the Navy Service Uniform and if your cadet is coming from a sporting competition or practice, then their sports attire is acceptable.  All cadets who attend the awards ceremony will also receive participation credit from their instructor.  If you have any questions, please email your cadets’ Naval Science Instructor.  Additionally, if you have been notified that your cadet is receiving an award or recognition and they are unable to attend, please notify Master Chief King at frank.king@dma.k12.de.us
  • Third Marking Period Honor Roll Certificates: If your cadet earned the distinction of Honor Roll for the 3rd marking period, you may complete the following link to order a certificate to commemorate their success. There is no charge for the certificate and you will be notified once they are complete for cadet pick up. Order form: https://forms.gle/fe76KhhnfGnbLpUe9
