Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We have a lot of additional information/news to share with you this morning!
- We are proud to recognize TWO of our seniors who have received appointments to a United States Service Academy so far this year. Congratulations to Noah Cillo who has received a total of THREE appointments: one to the United States Military Academy at West Point, one to the United States Air Force Academy, and one to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. This is an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations to Julia Farris who has received an appointment to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point where she will be playing softball next year. Academy appointments are extremely competitive and we are extremely proud of the hard work and determination you have put forth to be selected! We will keep you posted as we wait to hear about our other service academy applicants that may materialize. BRAVO ZULU!
- This Tuesday, March 23rd we will be holding two Zoom assemblies. One for the senior class and their families beginning at 6:30 PM and one for the present freshman, sophomore, and junior classes (7:15 PM) to discuss DMA’s plan for the remainder of the year. We continue to review and look at every possible scenario regarding a return to school and we want to offer you the opportunity to share with us any questions or concerns you may want us to vet. - Academic Information Night: DMA will be hosting a virtual academic information night on March 29th at 6:30 pm. We will be discussing the course selection process for next school year with a focus on Dual Enrollment & AP Course information. Please join us to find out more information on selecting your courses for next school year and the importance of participating in advanced level courses. Cadets and parents are welcome to attend.
- BIG NEWS! DMA will be offering three new Dual Enrollment options for next school year! DMA has formed a new partnership with Wilmington University and will now offer Principals of Management to complement our Business Pathway! We will also be extending our partnership with Delaware Technical Community College to offer General Psychology and Introduction to Criminal Justice! - Honor Roll Certificate Requests: If you are interested in securing a printed Honor Roll Certificate for the first and/or second marking period of the 2020-2021 school year, please complete the following form. All certificates will be printed and available for pick up in the main office during school hours Monday-Thursday. Once the certificate is available, you will be notified via email at the address provided. Please complete the form only if your cadet achieved Honor Roll status. - 10th Grade PSAT10 and 11th Grade SAT Information for March 24th: PSAT10 and SAT assessments will be administered in-person to all (Cohort A, Cohort B, and Virtual) 10th and 11th-grade cadets on March 24th. Please review the following document for specific information: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eIWsL-3AM4yfmdPzXWLHd7TpoAmYhia-AGYor3xk5ys/edit?usp=sharing. Cadets taking assessments on March 24th should review the linked document carefully. It will provide you with everything you need to know for the test day. Specific room number assignments will be given to cadets in class the week of the assessment. Cadets in 9th and 12th grade will not have instruction (synchronous or asynchronous) on that day. Those cadets should seize the day to get caught up with previously assigned classwork!
- Dual Enrollment and AP Exam Fees: Spring Dual Enrollment course fees are due by March 25th. AP Exam fees are past due and should be submitted as soon as possible. Payments can be given to Mrs. Tocyloski or the main office. Checks should be made payable to Delaware Military Academy. Payments can also be mailed to the school: Attn: Amy Tocyloski
- 2021-22 Curriculum Guide Available: The updated 2021-22 Curriculum Guide is now available on the DMA website! Please visit the DMA guidance page at https://demilacad.org/cadet-guidance. The guide can be found on the right-hand side of the page under Course Selection References. This resource should aid cadets in the course selection progress for the next school year. Be sure to check out the Curriculum Guide prior to the Academic Information Night!
