We are now at the final week of the 2022 school year. The last day for cadets is Wednesday, December 22nd and dismissal is at 2:00pm. We return on Wednesday January 4th.
- On Saturday, December 17th, more than seventy-five DMA cadets participated in the Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery to REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each veteran aloud.
- Last week DMA was honored in Nashville, TN at the NIAAA conference for being one of ten schools in the country and the first school in the state of Delaware to receive the QPA (Quality Program Award). The conference itself was inspirational, motivating and had some excellent speakers. During one of the workshops related to leadership, the speaker made a statement. He said, “If your presence isn’t making an impact then your absence won’t make a difference”. Every day, we should all strive to ensure our absence would make a difference. Our goal is for you to see that every day we work to move DMA forward, elevate and expand our course offerings, provide a competitive athletic program and a structured environment through our NJROTC program and of course continue to improve the overall campus grounds and facilities for a better cadet experience.
- We now are the recipients of the National Blue Ribbon and the QPA. Two of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a school.
- Last Friday, DMA supported the H.B. Middle School drive to provide necessities to families in need this holiday season. Junior Cadet Ellie Barbato and freshman cadet Camryn Rempfer led the drive. Thank you to all of DMA for supporting the initiative to help others in need.
- Sports Report:
- The ice hockey team defeated the Nighthawks 10-0 to remain undefeated on the season. The Boys Basketball team opened up the season with a 24-43 loss vs. Delcastle. The Girls Basketball team defeated Delcastle 53-21. The Girls Swimming team lost to Padua 61-109. The wrestling team had a great showing at the biggest tournament on the East Coast “Beast of the East”.
- Big shout out to Alyssa Mahan who made history by becoming the first ever girl Beast of the East champion. Way to represent Alyssa!
